On March 1, close to 50 former campers, counselors and parents braved the snow and gathered at the home of Libba Bushnell Williams TR 74, for a city reunion. Had the weather been more cooperative, there would have been twice as many people.  Attendees spanned the decades from a 1936 camper who was there with Col. Rice to current campers. Wearing ties and medals, sharing old catalogs and memorabilia, the group visited, reconnected, watched vintage movies from the 60s, and sang (of course!) Ann Perron gave an update on Nakanawa today, and Margaret Matens talked about TIES initiatives (like city reunions) and urged everyone to register on the TIES website

in order to learn about opportunities to visit camp, coming reunions, and ways to introduce prospective campers to Nakanawa. Libba's beautiful Mountain Brook home was a great setting for this lively gathering of so many loyal to Nakanawa. A big TIES thanks, Libba!

So sorry we didn't take more photos , but we were all so busy having fun, making connections, catching up that we forgot to keep taking pictures. It was great to see old friend and meet new people. (I met Quinn, the mother of one of my daughter's best TR friends, for the first time. And Quinn lives in Connecticut! Elon Pritchard I last saw when I was her counselor in Cabin 24 and she was all of 13. And we picked up right where we left off almost 30 years ago.) Everyone was having that same experience. Thank you, LIbba for making this happen. And thanks to all who registered on TIES! Bitsy and Libba are both planning to come to Service Weekend, May 1-3, and would be glad to have company on the drive to Mayland. Look at your calendars and see if you can join us. We have two Col. Rice era campers coming as well as college girls and everything in between. Call your best camp friend you haven't seen in ages and plan to meet at the Wigwam. SMILE PEP, Margaret Matens
